Sportsmen's Dinner a great success

1 year ago By Paul Farrell

The first of what will be an annual event passed off in great style as Old boys, current players and supporters mixed together in fine style.

With the guest of honour and principal speaker, Paul Sculthorpe, in fine form and the hilarious MC, Pete Emmett, keeping the audience in stitches the proceedings flew by.

Over ninety guests were treated to an excellent two course meal provided by the superb staff at the Masonic Hall before Paul Sculthorpe delivered an entertaining and informative glimpse of his playing career.

MC Pete Emmett kept the event bubbling along organising an Auction and Raffle which helped raise nearly £2000 for club funds.

A special mention should go to the newly formed West Bank Past Players Association who organised the evening which went off without a hitch. Gareth and Gavin New, Tony Blundell, Dave Beswick and Jack Murphy were principally involved in making the event such a success.

The club would like to thank everyone who pushed hard on ticket sales especially Brian Middlehurst, Graham Fenney, Peter Cowan and John Stankevitch.

John too donated several items for the auction and special thanks go to the table sponsors. They being; Muscle and Fitness Gym, Sweat Gym, West Bank Village Store, Jiggy Childcare, Northwich Fireplace Centre, The Crown Inn, Datacore Comms, The Bray Family, Transmission Hoses, Boydells, M&J Burns Ltd & Milton Engineering.

Thanks again for all those who attended and those people that made the event possible and roll on next year.
